25 months
Matisse has changed so much in the last month. She is very independent - the most common thing she says these days is "No, I'M doing it!" when you try to do anything for her. She has to pick out her own clothes and socks. She has also started negotiating - she will hold up one finger and say "One, 'kay?" and nod, asking you to agree with whatever it is she wants ("Chocolate? One, 'kay?"). This week we heard her use a few complete sentences ("I see daddy's car"). She has also finally begun to sleep through the night more nights than not.

Matisse turned 2 on March 13! She is a big girl - she was at the 90th percentile for both weight and height at her 2 year check up. Matisse loves to count to 10 (although she usually skips 2 and 3) and is talking alot (although sometimes we have no idea what she's saying). Her current funny phrase is "big bite" - it means anything big, not just a big bite of food (for
example, she recently said "big bite water" when she and Daddy were
washing their hands - this translates to "turn up the water pressure
Daddy"). One of her favorite "toys" right now is a few art magnets - she knows which ones were done by the artist Matisse, she can pick out the Monet, etc. Matisse's obsession of the moment is dark chocolate - she gets very excited when anyone brings out the chocolate.
