These days Matisse's most common word is of course "no", often with very elaborate finger wags.  Matisse has started combining words too - like "Daddy paci go" (Daddy go get my pacifier).  Matisse definitely likes to do things for herself - sometimes when we help her she shakes her head and says "Tisse" (which means, no I want to do it).  She is also singing a little of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".  Her favorite food these days is mandarin oranges - sometimes she goes through 4 or 5 a day.

19 months old

We really thought Matisse was talking a lot before, but she really is adding so many new words all the time now.  Her favorite word recently has been "apple" - which she says when she's hungry, no matter what she wants to eat.  Her favorite food recently has been tomatoes - she'll down 3 or 4 vine ripened tomatoes in one sitting.  Matisse always insists on wearing a bow - "bow" is usually one of the first things she says in the morning (after "apple" of course).

18 months old

Matisse is now talking up a storm, and it seems like she is adding a new word everyday.  She can even say some difficult ones like "washcloth" and "Adelyn".  She continues to be a ham, cracking everyone up at daycare with all of her faces.  Matisse is developing a love of accessories (notice that she's wearing a necklace in most of these pictures taken over the last month).  She loves reading books, especially ones with animals.  At her 18 month check up she was 27 lbs. (90th percentile) and 33 in. long (85th percentile).

Matisse has just started talking like crazy over the past couple of weeks, and now has a long list of words like circle, apple, nana (banana), elbow, and flower.  She also does a very cute "Oh, wow!"

We just got back from visiting Kauai (Hawaii).  Matisse loved the water and the waves.  She also really loved the wild chickens that roam all over the island (check out the video of her chicken noise).
